8th Winter Lecture Series at SML

radio_telescopeFor an enjoyable and educational outing, attend the 8th Annual Winter Lecture Series over the next few months at Smith Mountain Lake. From January 10th until April 4th there will be 4 different lectures including interesting topics like “…the Invisible Universe”. Full list below.

Prices include parking. All tickets paid at the door. Single ticket, $7; single season ticket, $18; two season tickets, $32; Friends of SML State Park season ticket, $15; two Friends of SML State Park season tickets, $30.  All lectures will take place at SML State Park Discovery Center in Huddleston, Virginia. Jan. 10th “Radio Astronomy Reveals the Invisible Universe.” Presented by Dr. Mark T. Adams, Asst. Dir., National Radio Astronomy Observatory. 3 to 4 p.m.
 
Feb. 7th “Zoaves: America’s Forgotten Soldier.” Presented by Patrick Shroeder, Historian, Appomattox Courthouse National Historical Park. 3 to 4 p.m.
 
Mar. 7. “Wildlife Photography Experiences.” Presented by Dr. Carl Boast, retired neuroscientist. 3 to 4 p.m.
 
Sunday, Apr. 4. “Jefferson, the Man and the Myth, Part 2.” Presented by Ron Coleman. 3:00 – 4:00 pm.
