Always something going on to catch your attention at Smith Mountain Lake. Take a gander at the current bits and pieces of whats happening over the next few weeks.

Smith Mountain Lake was the sixth stop on the ESPN Bassmaster Elite Series. The tournament ran June 7 – 10 and featured 107 professional anglers, as well as 107 amateurs who fished from the backs of the pros’ boats.The event is organized by the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society and its parent company, ESPN. Now, ESPN will feature Smith Mountain Lake in their coverage of this premier fishing event and air on ESPN2 this Saturday, June 16th at 9:00am EST.The Bassmaster Elite Tournament offers something for everyone so be sure to tune in and see Smith Mountain Lake on national TV.

Sunset Cay, Designer Solutions and Harrison’s are co-sponsoring the Ribbon Cutting/Grand Opening of their new businesses.  Open House from 11:30 AM until 2 PM today, Friday, June 15th  at Harrison’s (the old Campers Paradise restaurant) with ribbon cutting scheduled for 12:30 PM.  At the same time you may walk to and visit Designer Solutions and Sunset Cay, located on Campers Paradise Trail on site.  Join us in welcoming these new businesses to our ever growing community! Food and refreshments will be served.

Wednesday, June 27th – Hot Shots.  Jeff Schott purchased the old WaterWorld and has converted it to an entertainment center for children and adults alike.  It features a new 18-hole championship mini-golf course and blaster electric bumper boats and arcade.  He offers refreshments and take-out menu, a great venue for  birthday parties, fundraising and corporate events.
Jeff cordially invites all members to his facility for his ribbon cutting/grand opening on Wednesday, June 27th from Noon until 2:00 PM with the ribbon cutting scheduled for 12:30 PM.  Hot Shots is located on Route 122 next to Liquid Lube & Wash.  Frank Chrzanowski from HomeTown Bank is the Ambassador for the event. Food and refreshments will be served.
