Everyone at Smith Mountain Lake should be able to be a part of the decisions that are made in their community. At the Town Hall Meetings coming up, all will have the chance to participate in current issues of concern to local residents. Your involvement is desired.

The Tri-County Relicensing Commission (TCRC) and Smith Mountain Lake Association (SMLA) will be hosting two Town Hall Meetings on the topic "What’s at Stake in Relicensing".  An overview of the relicensing process and critical issues will be followed by a question and answer session with subject matter experts.

Public input is sought on a variety of critical issues:  public access and recreation, sedimentation, erosion, invasive weed abatement, debris removal, water level management, island preservation, navigation and scenic preservation.

The first meeting is scheduled for 19 July at Trinity Ecumenical Parish at 6:30 PM.  The second meeting is planned for 2 August at the Cool Branch Rescue Squad at 6:30PM.
