Christmas and New Years at Smith Mountain LakeMagic is in the air and there is never a dull moment at Smith Mountain Lake! You don’t want to miss the Holiday Events happening all around the area Christmas Week and New Year’s Eve and Day! From LIVE Nativity to Grief Support Groups to New Year’s Day Hikes….there is something for everyone!

Vitalize Church members have assembled a manger for a live Nativity, which will be held Dec. 18 to 24 in the field near Sunken City Brewing on Virginia 122. On the 24th at 8 p.m., we will gather around the Nativity for a candlelight communion. For those unable to attend the live Nativity, the set will include cut-outs during the day so that passers-by can still enjoy the Nativity. More information about Vitalize Church is available at www.facebook.com/vitalizechurch.

Christma Alpaca Visit – December 21st from 12 am to 5 pm. Help to feed those who are less fortunate.  So please help fill a “goodie bag” of food to bring to those families this holiday season. Free Admission with your non-perishable food items. Smith Mountain Lake Farm and Alpacas, Smith Mountain Lake, Hardy, Virginia. Need more info. call  540-719-0281. Tours will also be available by reservation. Only $5 pp. Children under 5 are free with paid adults.  Tours are 90 minutes long and hands-on with alpaca feeding, hugging, and learning all things alpaca, including how we make things!  Great Family Activity, good for all ages!

Smith Mountain Lake State Park: First Day Hike, January 1, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
