Even though this boat show is in Roanoke rather than at Smith Mountain Lake, those who have attended in the past know it is worth the drive.
This year’s Southwest Virginia Boat Dealer’s Association Show is at the Roanoke Convention Center starting from February 29th till March 2nd. It will be a great opportunity to see everything new and cool as well as to refresh yourself on all the possibilities out there for water lovers.
The 2008 Boat Show will feature the latest in how to winterize your boat, both new and familiar accessories and boating equipment, fun fishing gear and gadgets, opportunities to learn new laws and regulations, an indoor “rail jam” or wakeboarding event, and of course the newest models and makes of the boats themselves…and much more.
Also on Sat. Feb. 28th, the day before the show, the U.S. Sail and Power Squadron will be offering a free boating safety course from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Advance registration is required for this course. You can call 540.719.1500 for more information.
If you are a lover of all things to do with Smith Mountain Lake, and anxious to be ready when it’s time to get back on the water, this is an event you won’t want to miss.
Update March 2018: The Roanoke Civic Center is now called The Berglund Center.
