SML Lion's ClubThe Smith Mountain Lake Lion’s Club was chartered in 1982 and has been doing good deeds in our area ever since. As they often do, the club has acts of service planned for this month that are of great benefit to our lakeside community. Just a few of the services they offer are listed below.

EYEGLASS RECYCLING: Second Friday of each month. Each month, four teams of three read the collected glasses for their lens parameters, label and bag them for distribution worldwide.

TAX ASSISTANCE: Lions Stan Smith, Fred Croft, Doug Overman, Bill Eisaman, and Gale Johnson have been honored for their work in the Tax Aid program for the elderly conducted in conjunction with AARP.

RAFFLES AND SALES AT VARIOUS EVENTS: to raise money for both local social and civic service agencies as well as the Lions International programs for the blind such as the Leader Dog program.

ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY program that cleans up 25 miles of highway.
