Safe Boating Course

July 14th, 2006 · 2 Comments

Motorboat If you’re looking for a chance to improve your boating skills, here are two more chances to take a safe boating class at Smith Mountain Lake.  One course is set for July 17-18 from 7-10 p.m. at the Saunders Volunteer Fire Company building in Huddleston.  The second course will be in August on the 14th and 15th of the month and will be held at the Trinity Ecumenical Parish.  The courses, which are put on by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, are a great chance to learn more about safe boating, but they also provide a chance for those that complete the course to earn lower insurance premium discounts.  For more information about the courses, call Paul Howell, the Coast Guard’s Public Education Officer for the Smith Mountain Lake region, at (540) 774-2619.
