Who couldn’t use a course in boating safety? Whether you are a seasoned boater at Smith Mountain Lake or a person new to the area and the lake, everyone should refresh their memory of safety rules and regulations.
Safe boating courses are scheduled for the Smith Mountain Lake area during the coming months. Here is a list of the courses scheduled:
Feb. 24–Roanoke Civic Center during the Southwest Virginia Boat Show.
March 3–Moneta Fire Department building, Old Rt. 122.
March 31–Westlake Baptist Church, 2075 Scruggs Road.
April 28–SML Church of the Brethren, 6675 Burnt Chimney Road.
May 19–Cool Branch Fire & Rescue building, Smith Mountain Road, Penhook.
June 9–Trinity Ecumenical Parish, Rt. 122, one mile south of Hales Ford Bridge.
All of the above courses will be presented by the Smith Mountain Lake Sail & Power Squadron.
