Have you ever thought of how wonderful it would be to glide through the beautiful waters of Smith Mountain Lake on a clear, sunny day without the sounds of a motor to interrupt the serenity? Perhaps you have even considered buying a sailboat but didn’t know what that kind of boating would entail?

Smith Mountain Lake Sailing School was formed to provide US Sailing Certified instruction for beginning sailors who wished to improve their skills. These include sail handling with crews and racing. To take one of their courses you can bring your own boat or use one of theirs, but always with the focus of fun as well as safety. Their purpose is to take you from the shore, raise your sails and send you across the water with the skill and confidence for a lifetime of enjoyable voyages.
