The part of our Smith Mountain Lake Community that is in Bedford County is hosting an amazing number of educational and fun activities this month. Between the lovely historical town of Bedford, and the Lynchburg area, there is much to do this summer for the whole family.

Jun 1 – Jun 27 – Colonial Candles – 2:30pm to 3:30pm – Held on Wednesdays. Since the discovery of fire, there’s been a way to light up the night. Jun 1 – Aug 30 – Morning on the Lake – 8:45am to 11:45am – View the park from the best vantage point – a canoe. Partake a peaceful paddle along the lake’s shores on Thursday mornings. Jun 1 – Aug 28 – Speak to a Settler – 2:00pm to 3:30pm – Every Tuesday afternoon, an 1830s settler dressed in period garb visits the campground.
