Far too often we fail to appreciate all that we have and the wonderful lives we live here on Smith Mountain Lake. Our lives overflow with blessings of every sort and it is good to take time to be thankful and to celebrate the beauty of this place and our pleasant community. So join in as the 4th Annual "Celebrate the Lake" Weekend is held on June 22nd through the 24th.
The weekend begins on Friday, June 22nd at 5pm with an "Old Time, Good Time" Party. The live entertainment (Dancing Under the Stars), a Boat Show (in the water), live auctions, lots of good food and many more activities will be held at Indian Point (at the end of Morewood Rd./rt.616) under the Big Top, come rain or shine.
On Saturday, June 23rd beginning at 10am.at Parrot Cove, there will be various fun activities including an Antique Wooden Boat Show, Sail Boat and Silent Boat Parades, and boat decorating for a Powered Boat Parade leaving Hales Ford Bridge at Noon that day.
Then on Sunday, June 24th from 12 Noon till 5pm. at Smith Mountain Lake State Park (with free admission) is the WATERFAIR, where there will be something for everyone from the kids to the grandparents. See a live magician, go on fireboat rides, and enjoy face-painting, puppets, etc. There will also be an ice-cream boat, wakeboard demonstrations, craft-making and music by the local band, "Common Ground", and much more.
So get your family and friends together and come celebrate summer and life on Smith Mountain Lake.
