GreenhouseSpring is just a few days away and many of us at Smith Mountain Lake are starting to think about what we want to plant in the yard and the garden already. Last year I had a little bit of a hard time finding just what I wanted at Wal-Mart and so this year I decided to expand my search. I was pleased to find more landscaping and gardening suppliers than I knew existed. If you have not been to see the offerings of the season, then a trip to one of these lovely growers may stimulate your greenthumb.

Willow Tree Nursery - 540-576-3031  A full service Garden Center offering perennials, shrubs and trees. They carry mulch, pine needles and potting soil.  See their Gift Shop for fresh cut flowers and gift ideas. 

Lakescapes Nursery - 540.576.2781  Offers a garden center and nursery as well as pottery and a variety of gifts.

Moneta Farm and Home Center - 540.297.5558 Nursery, greenhouse, and all sorts of garden supplies such as mulch, fertilizers, potting soil, stones and pavers, etc. They also sell all kinds of construction materials and farm supplies. http://www.monetafarmservice.com/lawn.php

Walter’s Greenhouse - 540.427.3578  Take state route 122 south to Burnt Chimney turn right on to State route 116 north. Proceed to Coopers Cove Road (State Route 681) where you will see our sign, turn right we are 1 ½ miles on the right. http://www.waltersgreenhouse.com/Directions.htm
