SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY ANNOUNCED TODAY THAT HALESFORD BAPTIST CHURCH HAS GIVEN ITS APPROVAL TO HOST THE ACADEMY FOR ITS INAUGURAL SCHOOL YEAR!

There could not be a more ideal site for us to begin our first year ofschool than Halesford Baptist Church. The location itself is extremely accessible to most of Franklin and Bedford Counties. It is highly visible, situated at the intersection of Lost Mountain Road and Rt 122. There are plenty of spacious classrooms, not to mention access to a full-sized gymnasium and an outdoor playground and ball field. It provides the perfect opportunity for us to continue our relentless pursuit of academic, athletic and artistic excellence.

The Curriculum Team has been working for months developing the finest custom designed program for SMLCA. In addition, teacher interviews have begun and we are very excited about the response so far. We plan on having our calendar of next year’s major dates and our comprehensive Parent-Student Handbook posted on the website by May 8.

I would urge you to prayerfully consider making your application (may be downloaded at
www.smlacademy.com) as soon as possible. With the Halesford announcement and the registrations on hand so far, there is the possibility that some grade levels may max out.

In the meantime, I’d be delighted to meet with you in person or perhaps you have a group of families that may be interested in meeting together. Just let me know. God has been so gracious in opening door after door to allow us to be where we are at this point in time. We hope you will want to be a part of the foundation.

The wise man builds on the Rock! Matt 7:24
