Everyone has a story about how and why they came to be living at Smith Mountain Lake, Va. Each life has great significance in God’s scheme of things, so the story of each and every person at the lake is marvelous in some way or another. Some of your experiences are undoubtedly extra unique.

We at Smith Mountain Lake News would love to hear your story. If you live in one of the three counties around the lake, or are preparing to move there, tell us in 350 words or less, the circumstances and events that led you to your current home.

Sending us your story will automatically enter you in our CONTEST. We are looking for the most unique and interesting tales of how folks ended up at Smith Mountain Lake. Many of those stories will be posted on this site for the enjoyment of the community and the top 5 entries will receive an autographed copy of a book about Smith Mountain Lake by local realtor, Paul Moore. The Grand Prize will be dinner at The Water’s Edge Country Club for two.
