You know you have a great piece of real estate in your family home on Smith Mountain Lake, Va. but have you ever wondered what tourists and visitors or internet viewers have thought about this lovely area we call home? We thought it would be fun to print just a few of the comments of those who have left us messages as to what their perceptions were of the lake. We hope you enjoy them as much as we have.

Our son will be going to Virginia tech. this year and my husband and I would like to eventually move to Va. Someone mentioned the (SML) area and I started looking at real estate on line to get an idea of where we would like to end up. Smith Mountain Lake was one of the areas that looked great. Rita

Can’t say that we ever saw a prettier place than Smith Mountain Lake. We have family we visit in Franklin Co. and it seems there is a little bit of everything to do there. Maria and Randy

My family and I vacationed there (at Smith Mountain Lake) a couple of weeks ago and loved it. It is a beautiful place. Kevin

I saw an add for Cumber Lake and it just kinda took me to your (Smith Mountain Homes) website. It looked beautiful so I thought I would like to see more. Juanita

What a beautiful morning! I’m sitting on the dock at our Smith Mountain Lake house enjoying the sun and water. The ducks are swimming and the fish are jumping. I’m really excited about spending time here with our family. This is a place where we will be making memories. And we could not have done it without your (Smith Mountain Homes) help. Thanks for helping Marilyn and me find this place. Ross

I live in Richmond and have clients that live on Smith Mountain Lake….I’m thinking about (a place at) the Lake for a couple of reasons. 1) I’ve got a slug of classic wooden boats that hate Salt Water, and 2) I might be relocating to Greensboro….This would be closer for me….Warren

I happened to be looking for lakefront property on the internet and found Smith Mountain Lake.  I was trying to find a place that would be near a major city yet have a laid back feeling. We all love to fish and swim so the lake may be just the place we would want to live. The Myers

After many months of browsing the internet in search of a waterfront home I finally stumbled across one at SML that really caught my eye. It was Saturday morning at 5:30am so I emailed the broker, Paul Moore. Much to my surprise I received a reply back just moments later and I was soon on the phone with him discussing the home. The next day my wife and I were being chauffeured by boat looking at numerous homes that met our tastes. Thanks to Paul Moore we quickly found the perfect fit. Jeff
