Spooky Tales & Hayrides

October FunSmith Mountain Lake State Park is the place to be this Halloween. I can’t imagine anyone in the area outdoing this fun series of events for you and the kids on October 30th and 31st. All 3 programs are Free and open to the public. (Regular parking fees still apply.)

First from 5-6pm. on Friday, Oct. 30th there will be a Haunted Hayride. This is something different the whole family can enjoy. Meet at the Campfire Amphitheater & Overflow parking lot (across from the Campground). Travel a rarely used wooded trail and listen to the story of why so few venture down this forgotten road! Pre-register at our Main Office, space is limited.

Next on the 30th from 6-7pm. still at SML State Park, enjoy spooky tales, (all with a family friendly feel) and marshmallow roasting. Once again you will meet at the Campfire Amphitheater & Overflow parking lot (across from the Campground).

And finally on Sat. October 31st from 2-4pm. at Smith Mountain Lake State Park take the kids to Goblins & Goodies at their Discovery Center. The whole family will enjoy pumpkin painting, crafts, candy and more! See a real bat and make one to take home. Hayrides will be offered throughout the day. Come dressed in your favorite Halloween costume. Prizes will be awarded for the most unique & creative costumes in two age groups; up to 5 yrs. and 6 yrs. & up. Judging will be from 2:30 – 3:00 pm and prizes will be awarded at 3:30 pm. Be sure to join the family fun at Smith Mountain Lake State Park.
