Gibson Media Design is a home-based design business owned and operated by me, Andie Gibson.
I graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.S. in Journalism in 1992 and started my career as a sports writer and copy editor for The Roanoke (Va.) Times. My most recent position was as Director of Marketing for roanoke.com, a division of The Roanoke Times and the most comprehensive website in Southwest Virginia. I’ve also worked for the Associated Press and the Greensboro (N.C.) News & Record.
In 2000, I decided to leave the newspaper to focus on raising my new son and building a new business for Gibson Media Design. My clients are primarily small businesses in the tourist community where I live, Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia. It has been an outstanding decision as I get to enjoy the best of both worlds — a flexible, fulfilling career and the opportunity to spend a lot of time with my son Ben.
